019 Gina Suarez
On today's episode we explore the journey of a Pharmacist and Certified Health Coach, Dr Gina Suarez, all the way from the island of Puerto Rico. We focus the start of our conversation on Gina's experience of community pharmacy at the start of her career. We discuss the impact of high levels of stress and job dissatisfaction in a community pharmacy setting which can lead to unhealthy habits, emotional and physical health issues, and general burnout. We dive deep into the steps Gina took to remove herself from a toxic environment and enter a space which allowed her to work with patients in a more holistic manner to promote wellness and wellbeing.
She gives us plenty of ideas to get started with and helps us to understand the importance of making time for a balanced day and taking care of yourself so you can take care of others:
- daily meditation and yoga
- eating a plant based diet
- establishing a morning routine
- connecting with people you love
- regular self care and shifting your mindset
Go and check out her website, MintLifeRx, to see how she can help you achieve your personal health goals.
