042 Francine De Stoppelaar
This week, I am absolutely delighted to introduce the current Director of Pharmacy at Cleveland Clinic London to the podcast, Francine De Stoppelaar. Francine and I met back in 2018 when I first returned to London from Abu Dhabi. She had recently started her post at that time and was in the initial stages of developing and setting up the pharmacy services for the hospital. There is something really special about working with a start-up team and building something from the ground up! Since then, Cleveland Clinic London has been working tirelessly to set up the hospital as well as overcoming the challenges associated with Brexit and COVID-19. They are set to open the outpatient clinic on Portland Place in September 2021 and the Hospital on Grosvenor Place in January 2022.
Francine is an experienced healthcare leader with an extensive track record in Clinical and Pharmacy Operations, Quality and Patient Safety, Capital Builds and Entrepreneurship. Our conversation highlights her ability to thrive when faced with new challenges and experiences. She is definitely brave, she thinks outside the box, and enjoys an adventure in her professional career!
I was recently employed by Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and my fondest memory of working there was the culture that the organisation fostered where you felt like you were working with family. I also loved the fact that they prioritised your health and wellbeing as they know and believe that looking after yourself first will ensure you can look after your patients. This "patient-first" culture was a huge priority and an element of their brand they are very proud of.
